Camping and Conservation on Catalina – In partnership with CMC’s Outdoor Initiative, this team will work on projects with the Catalina Island Conservancy to preserve and support the island’s natural resources. Projects include preservation of habitats for endangered species and trail renovation. The team will camp on the island and will have time to explore trails and the coastline.
Solar Spring Break, Sacramento – CMC is partnering with Grid Alternatives for a Solar Spring Break in Sacramento. Students will learn about alternative energy solutions and install solar panels in an underserved community. We also plan to explore the state capital and learn about environmental policy efforts in Sacramento.
Hurricane Disaster Relief, Eastern NC – Last fall, Hurricane Matthew caused extensive damage to numerous small communities across the southern east coast of the US. A CMC team will travel to eastern North Carolina to support disaster recovery efforts, working to rebuild homes for local residents.
